Out With The Old Fossil Fuel Gas, In With The New Mini Split

Because we know what’s coming here at the Beach with both climate and costs, we took preemptive action here at The Compound before March ended and made the commitment to have an electric heat pump and air conditioning system installed.

We may only need the air conditioning for a week or so this summer of 2019. But we know we’ll need it more and more with each passing year. And just as importantly for us, the electric heat pump powered by our rooftop solar would replace our aging, dirty fossil fuel heaters from the 1940s.

So after getting three estimates and making our choices on the morning of April 2 Laura Barnes and her crew from Dr. Ductless arrived, and here’s how things went:
